Dr Taryn van Meygaarden BVSc

Taryn grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Massey University in 2003. Having worked in Wellington, Auckland and the UK, she returned to Hamilton in 2008 and has been working for Hamilton Vets since March 2024. She is our Lead Veterinarian at Hamilton Vets and our Branch Manager. 

Taryn loves working in general practice, and particularly enjoys dentistry and soft tissue surgery, and has an interest in animal nutrition and behaviour. She is one of our cat-friendly advocates at Hamilton Vets.  

Outside of work, she is kept busy with her two sons and two mixed-breed dogs – Rocky and Layla. You may spot her at quiz nights, local eateries, walking the dogs and cheering on the sideline at junior football!
