Annual wellness checks

A yearly check helps catch issues early and keep your horse performing at its best. It includes:
  • A discussion of performance and concerns
  • Clinical exam of respiratory, cardiac, GI function, and body condition
  • Sedated oral exam to detect early dental disease
  • Dental float if needed
  • Weight check using our portable crush.

Vaccinations

Vaccines protect against serious, often sudden diseases. Prevention is far safer—and cheaper—than treatment.
We recommend:
Tetanus
  • 3-dose series + boosters every 1–3 years
  • Deadly if untreated; found in soil/manure.
Strangles
  • 3 doses, 2 weeks apart + annual booster
  • Highly contagious; vaccine reduces severity.
Herpes (EHV)
  • Begin at 4–6 months; boosters required
  • Respiratory illness & abortion risk.

If your horse is injured and vaccination status is unknown, we can administer an anti-toxoid for short-term protection.

Parasite control & drench management

We tailor worming plans to each horse—saving you money and reducing resistance.
Our approach:
  • Faecal egg count monitoring
  • Evidence-based treatment timing
  • Spring deworming with moxidectin (Equest Plus or Ultramox) to target redworm.

Drop off fresh, labelled faecal samples at our clinic (within 24 hrs).
