Dakota Harema Smith

Dakota joined the Franklin Vets Waiuku team in April 2025. She graduated from Unitec in 2022 with her Veterinary Nursing qualification and, soon after, welcomed her son with her partner of 7 years.

With a lifelong love of animals, Dakota is passionate about delivering high-quality care and is keenly interested in diagnostic imaging. Since joining Franklin Vets, she’s continued to develop her skills and knowledge in a supportive and encouraging environment. While she spends most of her time nursing, you might also spot her helping out at reception from time to time!

Outside of work, Dakota loves spending quality time with her whānau. She values simple pleasures such as cooking for her loved ones and relaxing by the water.
